This spider is only a few days old – It is in a vulnerable state because it has not yet fully worked out how to use its 8 legs properly, and it’s eyes have not yet developed.
The baby jumping spider will typically stay in the parent’s nest for about a month – sadly, this means the mother may not have much longer to live – but in her last days, she stays guard of the nest and will fiercely protect her young.
I was lucky to find this baby on the edge of the nest – but I was sure to put it back home to spend as much time with its parent as possible.
Life is short – call a loved one today and let them know how special they are to you.
