There’s a current debate going around among Spider-Man fans. One question that always gets asked whenever something new releases, be it a movie or comic or video game. “Why does Peter Parker have to suffer?” *No Way Home* being one of the most recent examples. That movie ends with the character in the worst place he’s ever been at, a position that even the comics version of the character hasn’t explored. And a lot of fans, such as myself, loved that decision. So… Why is that? Is the character ever allowed to be happy? It’s a question that even the Marvel company seems afraid to answer. In the last part, I pushed the character pretty hard, probably harder than the future movies are going to be comfortable doing. Not just to be dark and edgy, but because I think it’s necessary to truly showcase what makes the Spider-Man character so special. I believe that all superheroes fundamentally exist for one specific reason, and Spider-Man is no different. At the end of the day, when you take away the powers and the costumes and the silly villains, at his core… Spider-Man should always represent one thing. And today, we’re going to figure out what that is.
So, at long last, here’s my pitch, for *Spider-Man: Final Swing*.
With great power, there must also come great responsibility:
