The Equinox has just happened and I catch Barbie the Redback spider just as she’s laying a spider egg sac. This 9th egg sac happens on the 26th September. This is always an amazing spider activity to witness and normally Redback Spiders do this in the safe recluse area of their spider nests. During the egg laying and egg sac web weaving the spider is completely absorbed in the process and will not move away from the fresh hatch of spider eggs. Capturing the moment Redback spiders lay eggs is tricky, and even more difficult to capture in the middle of a video frame. Put it this way there are endless times I have missed the moment. I do also look at Lil Sister Redback spider and she’s still growing niceley.
I also show an update on Spider Tank 3. Time Lapse camera is setup and shooting. All I need now is the spiderlings to hatch and the real fun will begin.
