With Spider-Man: No Way Home set to release in just a couple of weeks, big boss man over at Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, is revealing why he chose certain Spider-Man villains to make a comeback in Spiderman’s latest movie outing. Speaking exclusively with Screen Rant, Kevin Feige explains what motivated both Marvel Studios and Sony to go in the direction they chose for Spiderman No Way Home. He explains how the deal between Disney and Sony has made almost anything possible, kicking off with the reveal of Peter Parker’s identity in Far From Home, which ultimately “Set us on a course for things we’d never seen before in a Spider-Man movie.” He also explains how Doctor Strange became the conduit for this to happen, seeing Green Goblin, Doc Ock, Sandman, Lizard, and Electro making a return. As Kevin Feige stated in his interview, this isn’t something we’ve seen done in the MCU, and it’s something rather unique to the Spider-Man series of movies, given his character existing outside of the MCU before Tom Holland stepped into the role. These old, some might say fan-favorite, villains are making a very impactful return in No Way Home because of this unique relationship between Disney and Sony regarding the Spider-Man IP. Fans are excited to see what #Spiderman does in #SpidermanNoWayHome set for theaters Dec. 17th. In other Marvel news, Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse released its first teaser over the weekend, revealing its release date and that it’ll be part one of a larger story. And finally, we here at IGN partnered with Rogue Games to produce Rogue Jam: a brand-new game jam offering exclusive development deals to competing indie game developers.
