A raft spider (Dolomedes fimbriatus) hunts and catches a water insect (Mayfly Larva). A raft spider is a water spider. Dolomedes fimbriatus is also called raft spider and it lives in marshes and wet lands. It can float on the water surface like a water strider. But unlike a water strider it hunts its prey under water. To catch the prey swimming underneath the raft spider uses its legs like a net. The whole movement is so quick that it can only be seen in slow motion.
